Manchester Portico Library Wedding: A 90s-Inspired Celebration with Unique Details

I had the pleasure of capturing Merry and Alec's wedding at Portico Library in Manchester. The venue had a moody and dark ambiance, but with the charm of many books, creating a very intimate setting for their special day.

The ceremony took place in the reading room, with all 40 guests gathered closely together. Michelle, the coordinator, ensured that everything ran smoothly, despite a slight delay due to Manchester run taking place in the city that day.

The wedding had a natural and 90s vibe, which I found visually appealing. I particularly enjoyed photographing Merry's nieces surrounded by books and artwork in the library. One touching detail was Alec and Merry sponsoring a book, showing their commitment to supporting and preserving literature.

After cutting their unique wedding cake, adorned with handmade icing dogs, the couple surprised their friend with a special cake for his 30th birthday. Confetti was thrown outside before everyone hopped on a tram to their next destination for the evening festivities.

I had a wonderful time capturing the emotions and moments of the day. It was difficult for me to leave, as I was eager to continue documenting their journey, including their tram ride. The wedding was a blend of modern, romantic, and vintage styles, filled with colourful and emotional moments.

If you're looking for a Manchester wedding photographer to capture your intimate and cool celebration in the heart of the city, Portico Library is a fantastic alternative wedding venue to consider.
