Creative And Unique Wedding Photography Photos You'll Love
What makes my wedding photography unique?
For me unique wedding photos are creative and cannot be recreated. Even better if personalised to the couple.
How am I creative in my unique wedding photography, and how do I use this at weddings?
I have a passion for experimenting with various film photography techniques, especially when it comes to 35mm film. I enjoy creating double exposures and playing with films that have different colours, including using purple Lomography film. I've also experimented with turquoise Lomography film, which gives the final product a green hue.
I have experience working with various medium-format cameras which I have taken photos on at weddings. Some which a light leak has meant it’s taken the image to a new way of looking.
Above is one of my favourite highly colourful films is this from Psychedelic Blues which I took to the wedding of Amy & Jonathon back in August.
The roses series
Over the last year, I have been experimenting with a process, which I call the roses. What I do is I take pictures of a local rose bush in town, then wind that film back, and then I'll take that to weddings, and it generates double exposures of roses and then the couple. This resulted in these photos. I expanded on that and did yellow roses after.
Instant films
I try to shoot two boxes of Polaroid. At all my weddings and I love instax wide I am still using an original 1990s instax wide camera. The colours are still beautiful still has flash and I’ve gotten to know how to use it very well. I can even do a Double exposures on that.
I especially think instant films look amazing with the contrast of the city.
Polaroids are really really nice because that instant grainy colours is unpredictable and it just gives you a unique perspective on your wedding, which I then scanning and also sent to the couple afterwards.
Digital uniqueness
There is nothing more unique than emotion, genuine, emotional relaxed, photography, that tells a story.
I do however like to try Double Exposure with my Fujifilm XT5 and if you have a wedding neon sign, I really like to use that to take unique experimental photos like the one below.
