A real autumn wedding story

As autumn is nearly upon us, and I love the burnt oranges and golden hours I thought I would share a beautiful wedding I shot a few years ago at Pimhill Barn in Shrewsbury in Autumn. Maisie and Micheal had an intimate outdoor ceremony and included their pet pug dogs. A needle and Thread long sleeve beaded wedding dress and gorgeous portraits out in the gardens.

Venue Selection

M & M had picked Pimhill Barn and the leaves and nature all around them in this cute cozy barn leant itself to the whole Autumn theme. As you can see in the photos they even had the autumn leaves incoming (lovely burnt oranges) into the area where they said their vows and I felt it was such a cool touch. Where the ceremony was, it was outdoors but still covered, which meant gorgeous light and also, if it rained then they would’ve been ok.

Embracing the falling leaves for portraits

Embracing the autumnal trees and weather meant that M & M could get different wedding photos with the warm look of the leaves and trees around them. As it’s usually cloudy in Autumn or even rainy, this means it's actually nice overcast light. We took them on a walk and even walking shots are beautiful and laid back for wedding portraits.

I shot the following instax wedding photos on film for them and love how they turned out. Some really unique wedding photos for autumn.

Wedding dresses for Autumn Weddings

Maisie wore a gorgeous beaded dress from Needle and Thread. A long sleeve dress that kept her warm but also looked every bit as elegant and beautiful and was clearly her style.

Wedding dresses for autumn can still be modern and if you are cold, get added sleeves or detachable sleeves for a modern look or just get dancing and wear a beer jacket.

That has also reminded me, how about a cool leather jacket or denim one, these can be easily personalised, or if you’re lucky enough to have a crafty bridesmaid or someone or want to try yourself, or get searching on instagram!
